I need your help!

Peneda-Gerês National Park, Portugal | www.myfoododyssey.com

It’s almost four years since I first began my blogging journey. I left my secure job and set off in a camper van around Europe in search of tastes and experiences. Over the past four years I have been to some wonderful places – France, Spain, Portugal, Australia and of course, beautiful Lithuania. I have taken many, many beautiful photos – more than I could ever hope to share.

I have always blogged for pleasure – never for money. Just as well, really, because there is very little money to be made! Apart from making some connections, I have never received so much as a cup of coffee for my blogging efforts. I don’t get freebies. Every trip I took or meal I ate was at my own expense. I was always ok with that – it was the experiences I wanted, not the freebies.

Now, though, there is a chance – just a chance – that I might win an all-expenses trip to India in March. The deal is that an Indian Tourist Board pays for food and accommodation for two weeks, with an onus on us bloggers to take lots of photos and tell you guys how wonderful it is. That all sounds ok to me!

As always, there is a hitch. I need votes. I need you guys to vote. Only if I secure enough votes (and I’m afraid I don’t know how many, but I’m guessing at least a few hundred), will I get to go.

So I’m asking for your vote. As an enticement I’m sharing again some of my photos so you know what you can expect if I get to go on this magical trip!

To vote for me, please click below. Thank you so much!
Voting has now closed. Thank you for your help!

I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas and got to enjoy time with family and friends. Here’s to wonderful things for us all in 2017!

June. x

  1. June – A very good Lithuanian sent me the link to your blog and also your request for a vote for Kerala. The reason is that he knows that my wife Jill and I travel for the adventure and the food. We have been to many places, and are going to Kerala and Tamil Nadu (fist time in India) in February. Thought I would tell you about the people we will be cooking with during our trip. The first is Nimmy Paul in Cochin, she is a well know cook who has built a following throughout the world. She teaches from her home. The next is Nimi Sunil Kumar in Munnar. She is the author of 2 cookbooks and has won 2 awards from Gourmand Magazine for those books. Then we are heading into Tamil Nadu to visit the Chettinad region, which has its own spicy flavor profile different from others. Look up the Bangala (Hotel and Restauraunt) and see that they are the best in that region. They offer demonstrations and classes. Finally we will be going to Madurai and having a Foodies night out. All of the above are easily looked up.

All that said, good luck in your quest for this trip. Even if you don’t win youstill should find a way to get there.

  4. The page that your link goes to appears to be a login to enter the contest as a blogger, (because it asks for one’s social media profile, birth date, country of passport etc.) rather than a link to vote. It is asking for a lot more information than I am prepared to give a sponsor for voting, Is there another page for voting?

    • Hi Bunty. I’m so sorry about the dreaded login procedure. I don’t know why they make these things so difficult for people. Anyway, the easiest way to vote is using your Facebook profile (assuming you have one). If you click on “Login with Facebook” on the left-hand side it will either show you a FB login page or, if you’re already signed in to FB on your device, bring you straight in. Your vote for me should then go through automatically. To check, you can click on “Contestants” in the top right. My profile is about half way down the first page. If your vote went through it will say “Voted” rather than “Vote Now” beside my name.

And thank you so much for your efforts!

  5. Hi. Want to vote for you, but the site asks too many personal questions…like name on passport, etc…too weird. Sorry, but I love your blog. Sekmes! –Maryte

    • Hi Maryte. Thank you so much for trying and sorry you got hit with nasty questions. The easiest way to vote is using your Facebook profile (assuming you have one).

If you don’t have a FB account, then you can use the “Register with Email Id” option. Note that you ONLY need to enter your name, website (use your blog or make one up), your e-mail and a password. All those personal questions can be ignored. Once you’re in, go to “Contestants” and vote for me!

So sorry that it’s this complicated. I really, REALLY appreciate the effort!
