We live in a small Lithuanian village surrounded by stunning countryside – open fields and forests teaming with wildlife. Here are a few photos taken out and about in our garden and around our village.

Thank you for the fantastic photos of my birth country Lithuania. I felt really nostalgic looking at them,,, and specially at Velines – looked,,,,magic,,,, brings all the memories when I lived and was happy there. Now I’m on the other side of the world and here they don’t have such beautiful traditions, I miss all that so much.
Much love and happiness to you June and your family. 🌞🌞

  7. Your photographs have a lovely romantic air to it – thanks so much for sharing!!! I specially love the ones of the old chimney with the storchs, and any other of nature with old rusty things or old things around them. Well done ❤

    • Thank you! I like those rustic, unpolished shots too. They seem more real to me. I’m so lucky to be surrounded by this beautiful countryside.

Hi June , I just came across with your story on Youtube , surfing House Hounters International! I wish you good luck in your beautiful house and with your new life! My husband and I planning to buy a nice place in two years and be as self sustainable as we can. We both were born in Europe and spent our young years farming , but we ended up in the US and living the life in the suburbs . We both miss the country life!

I met you and your husband by watching house hunters international. I was so impressed with your lovely “homestead” and the way you made it your own. Location is so much more important than anything else, because you can always make the changes you need, even if it takes time. I agree that a simple, back to the earth life-style is so rewarding! —Challenging, but rewarding. It’s not for the lazy or the unimaginative. Blessings to you both. I’m looking forward to following your food blog as you explor the food of Lithuania!

Hi June, my favorite TV program is House Hunters International! Once in a while I experience the journey, goals and perspectives of a couple resonating so much with mine that I become entirely absorbed. I was so relieved by the end of the show to see your beautiful renovations! I also heard when you said something like ‘it’s not always an easy life, but it’s a good life.’ Blessings of the day from Lindy, enjoying the rural life in Oregon

    • Hi Linda! Thanks for checking out the blog. So happy to hear you enjoyed the show – I was worried our version might not be “glam” enough for some folk. We’re so pleased with our renovations and with our sometimes challenging but always wonderful little life! Take care, J.
